Compassion and Community
At Good Doggy Saratoga, we work with compassion towards you and your dogs. This means that we will always do our best to meet you both where you are, and develop training plans that fit in with your lifestyle and capabilities. In the formation and implementation of all of our plans, we strive at every step to minimize fear, anxiety, and stress in our students and their beloved pets. This means we do not use intentionally aversive training tools (including prong, choke, and shock collars) or techniques. This extends to both ends of the leash meaning we will never shame you for past practices or berate you for mistakes. Learning happens best for everyone when it’s an enjoyable experience.
Our sense of community means we put everyone on an equal level and will treat you as a partner with a common goal and not an inferior that must simply comply. You, your dog, your vet, and your groomer are all integral parts of our community team, each bringing important expertise in skills and knowledge. Our job is to balance that expertise in ways that maximize the happiness and harmony in your home.
